Grizzlies @ Nuggets tips, picks and prop bets: Back Memphis train to keep rolling

The Memphis Grizzlies (10-19) started the season 0-6 and withstood numerous losing runs while waiting for Ja Morant to return to action.

They’re still without some key pieces and Ja is questionable tonight, but is it worth riding the midnight train to Memphis until it derails?

They’ve won and covered in all four contests since his return and tonight they’re a +7.5 underdog on the road to the Denver Nuggets (22-10).

The Nuggets have won five straight but just one of those was a double-digit victory, with wins against the Raptors, Warriors, Nets and Hornets coming by nine or fewer.

If Ja Morant suits up, then this line immediately crashes and settles closer to +6. If he doesn’t play, then it goes the other way. That’s a chance you have to take sometimes.

The Grizzlies recently improved to 6-2ATS on the road and they’re 6-1ATS on the back of an ATS win. On the other hand, Denver is just 4-10ATS in that situation.

It’s also worth noting that despite their poor performance, Memphis were second in defensive efficiency last season and they’re seventh this season.

As a team, Memphis matchups fairly well on the inside, with or without Morant, and Denver isn’t a team that’ll do too much damage from long-range.

Both teams trend under and neither will play at a breakneck pace. With or without Morant, we think there’s a chance Memphis can keep this close.

Grizzlies @ Nuggets prop bets

Nikola Jokic is averaging 26.4 points per game on the season but he’s had some quieter games recently. Memphis can get physical, so his total could be low again.

Memphis have allowed a touch above 112 points per game through their last seven despite facing the Rockets (x2), Pelicans (x2), Pacers, Hawks and Thunder.
