Adam Dobbin and Tim Newbold preview Saturday night’s Group 1 Golden Easter Egg card at Wentworth Park

Adam Dobbin and Tim Newbold preview Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg night at Wentworth Park.

Race 1 - Group 3 Magic Maiden Final (520m) 7.09pm

AD: Tim, if you don’t get excited about a program like Saturday night, well you’re pretty hard to please. Think we get off to a flyer with ONE HOT BANDIT (8). The wraps were huge going into the heats and he lived right up to them with more in the locker. Expect the kennelmate BANDIT BULLET (5) to give a sight while ZIPPING REMUS (6) might get a nice cart across following an impressive heat win also.

TIPS: 8,5,6,3

TN: If you aren’t pumped for Saturday night’s card it’s probably time to find a new hobby Adam. We’re on the same page in the opener, RED HOT BANDIT (8) did everything he was expected to do in the heat and confident he’ll go back-to-back from the perfect alley. ZIPPING ROUSEY (3) clocked identical time to him and the obvious danger with a clean start again. If there’s a knockout at a mammoth price, CAWBOURNE SPADE (2) could be the one as much better drawn down near the rails.

TIPS: 8,3,2,6

Race 2 - Paul Wheeler Celebration (520m) 7.28pm

AD: A race to honour an icon of the sport in Paul Wheeler and I think it’ll be heading back south in the shape of MORTIFIED (8). She was awesome last week and no dramas with the pink draw, she loves it! SHOWMAN JACK (6) not well drawn but I can see him getting home hard late while at odds STREET OF DREAMS (2) is one for exotics. It’s all Mortified for me, Tim.

TIPS: 8,6,2,1

TN: MORTIFIED (8) is arguably the best boxed runner of the evening. She relishes drawing outside greyhounds where she can get mobile in the early stages and let rip. Recorded mind-boggling sectionals winning last week which were comparable to absolute champions. Best bet! RED HOT FRANKIE (1) is unbeaten from the cherry and makes her own luck on the speed. She’s the value runner. ANGLAND LUAI (3) can improve sharply from a soft draw.

TIPS: 8,1,3,2

Race 3 - Listed Ultra Sense Final (520m) 7.47pm

AD: Going with the Victorian EULER BALE (5) in what I’ve got as the most open race of the card. Was backed as if the result was already posted in the heat and duly saluted. Lot to like about this fella. I’M LOVING IT (8) was a really determined heat winner and is a dog going places but can’t put a foot wrong from the pink. ZIPPING SABRINA (6) will be out to keep her winning run rolling but the six does her no favours. Wouldn’t surprise if we were polar opposite here?

TIPS: 5,8,6,1

TN: Open as the Sydney heads Adam and I’m having a real throw at the stumps here with SPACE GIRL (4) at about 40 bucks in early markets. She just needs to dodge the (3) at the jump but can nail the jump on her night and could lead and pinch it. Both ORO ROJO (1) and CUMBRIA KID (2) are drawn for glorious runs through the first bend but agree it’s very wide open.

TIPS: 4,1,2,8

Race 4 - Rupert McCall’s Ode To The Egg (520m) 8.07pm

AD: Back to 4/5th grade company I’m with EMBRACE (7) to return to the winners list. Bounced out in an Egg semi last week but this is much more to her liking if she nails the start. Reckon NANGAR MAGIC (3) is a real watch Saturday night. First up for a month and fresh expect a forward showing. COCO MODEL (1) is as honest as the day is long and can look the winner for a long way.

TIPS: 7,3,1,2

TN: Agree Adam, massive drop back in grade for EMBRACE (7). She’s got the runs on the board being a Group 1 winner, loves Wenty Park and performs well from wide draws. NANGAR CHIEF (3) has a big engine and expecting a bold showing first-up. Very fast animal when on song. LOCHINVAR KEWELL (2) strips fitter after winning on resumption last week. Genuine player.

TIPS: 7,3,2,1

Race 5 - Group 1 Farrell’s Association Cup Final (720m) 8.28pm

AD: After a little break and a winning heat run, I’m with CAWBOURNE MAGIC (7) to grab a deserved group 1. Loves the track and can only see him finding a bit off last week. Expecting he’ll be out chasing his kennel mate BANDIT JANE (3) which led all the way last week. You’d expect she finds a bit and if she does she’s going to be mighty hard to run down. I’m not dismissing ZIPPING ORLANDO (6) either. Bit of second up syndrome last week and if he begins, look for him to give backers a huge sight.

TIPS: 7,6,3,5

TN: CAWBOURNE MAGIC (7) was sensational first-up in the heat and he’s arguably the best stayer in the land. Will be giving away a start down the home straight on the first occasion but confident he’ll reel them in late. RITZA PIPER (1) makes her own luck on the pace and can fire to the front and give an almighty sight. ZIPPING ORLANDO (6) is a talented young stayer on the rise and is the best roughie in the race.

TIPS: 7,1,6,3

Race 6 - Group 3 New Sensation Final (520m) 8.48pm

AD: Jack Smith is shooting for three New Sensations with PALAWA KING (1) the two previous, Feral Franky and Jungle Deuce. Not bad company and I’m with him to do it. Top run behind TOMMY KADE (4) in the heats and gets the draw advantage. They are the top two for me. Throwing in GOT THE FEATURE (3) as well, the kind of dog you’d love to go into battle with!

TIPS: 1,4,3,7

TN: TOMMY KADE (4) has the box manners and early burn to handle the middle draw. Ripping performance leading throughout last start in blistering time and think he’ll continue on his winning way. PALAWA KING (1) gets the draw to hold a spot early and will be super strong late. Hard to hold out. GOT THE FEATURE (3) is the value runner. Could easily lead and pinch it at double figures.

TIPS: 4,1,3,8

Race 7 - Group 3 The Ambrosoli (520m) 9.12pm

AD: The Ambrosoli has dished up some terrific races since its inception and this is no different. I can see all the speed coming from MIA SHE’S FAST (4) and YUKO GIRL (5) in the centre and if Melbourne Cup hero YACHI BALE (3) launches into a stalking spot I’m with him to finish over the top. PANAMA PEPPER (2) moves to a better draw after landing 7 and 8 to start the Egg series. He can be the big improver. Tim, Victorian’s have a decent record in this race.

TIPS: 3,5,4,2

TN: They do Adam and I’m with one in YACHI BALE (3). He was outstanding on debut at Wenty two starts ago and was only so-so last start. Agree he settles into a stalking role here and can finish right over the top. YOKO GIRL (5) is as reliable beginner as you’ll find. Loves Wenty and will give backers a great sight if she fires to the front.

TIPS: 3,5,8,2

Race 8 - Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg (520m) 9.40pm

AD: The big dance … and I’ve got it down to the wings, Victorian’s BABY JAYCEE (1) and ELITE ALEX (8) where I’m with the latter slightly. Liked both series runs and is ready to peak for mine and keep Mark Delbridge’s remarkable run going. Of the local brigade SIMPLY LIMELIGHT (3) looks the major player. If he’s in fresh air down the back he’s charged with the finish to run down, well, anything. Value player, REFLECTIONS (4). Be some story after landing a semi spot as second reserve!

TIPS: 8,3,1,4

TN: Certainly would be a story and a half Adam and she’s in it up to her eyeballs, REFLECTIONS (4), she’s the best roughie for mine. In saying that, I’m with the Victorian BABY JAYCEE (1) from the plum draw. Scintillating win in the semi and she’ll get room to move in the early stages to drive up and find the front. SIMPLY LIMELIGHT (3) is the big closer. He just needs to hold onto the leaders early and he’ll come with a booming finish.

TIPS: 1,3,4,8

Race 9 - Ron Arnold Masters Final (520m) 10.11pm

AD: Tim, the way they’re boxed this could well be dubbed the Connections Appreciation! Seriously, he was awesome in his heat, CONNECTIONS (1) has the red with a wide runner to his outside. RED HOT MOUSE (3) was good in the heats while TAW GENERAL (6) wouldn’t run a bad race if you begged him to. Looks the bet of the night the red.

TIPS: 1,3,6,5

TN: Nothing fancy here Adam, we concur. Should be a walk in the park for the skinny favourite Connections (1). Boxed to lead and win again. RED HOT MOUSE (3) has the early speed to push forward and settle behind the favourite and run a cheeky race. Would love to own one like TAW GENERAL (6), what an old marvel he is. Goes into all the multiples.

TIPS: 1,3,6,5

Race 10 - Ladbrokes Sports Bar Stake (520m) 10.31pm

AD: For those searching for a bit of value in the last I’m hoping OUR MECHANIC (8) can deliver in spades off the pink. Handles a wide draw and while his WPK runs don’t look fabulous they’ve been in better grade than what he meets here. ROYAL NANGAR (6) scored well in town recently and has obvious ability while the question runner is IT’S A CAUTION (3) making his city debut off some nice provincial form. Not an easy one the last, Tim?

TIPS: 8,6,3,1

TN: Not at all Adam, we need to be winning coming into the final event because it’s tough. I’m with HALF PAST TIPSY (5). Excellent beginner with a great turn of speed, lacks strength but can pinch it bowling along on the lure. OUR MECHANIC (8) is well boxed out on the wing and will miss any trouble if they jostle inside. ROYAL NANGAR (6) is above-average and can win with an ounce of luck.
