1.45 York – John Smith’s Racing Handicap (1m)

AMAYSMONT remains clear of his last winning mark but Richard Fahey’s charge showed last time at Musselburgh he’s ready to win again. He was only worn down late over a furlong further than today and the fact he went so well on soft going bodes well.

Selection: Amaysmont @ 16/1 with bet365

2.05 Newmarket – Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa Fillies’ Handicap (7f)

Sandringham Stakes second Samoot should go close for Sir Michael Stoute under William Buick as his 3lb rise looks a fair one. Along with Kingmania he must be on any shortlist but RIKNNAH completed a hat-trick when scoring over course and distance a fortnight ago and Simon and Ed Crisford’s filly by Shamardal may not be done improving. This is tougher but  she should be in the picture again.

Selection: Riknnah @ 7/1 with bet365

York 2.20 – John Smith’s Silver Cup Stakes (Group 3, 1m 6f)

Ebor winner Fujaira Prince knows this track and trip well and goes well fresh but ready preference is for HUKUM. He won a Group 3 race at Newbury last season over this trip before finishing fifth in the St Leger. Owen Burrows’ charge is a Listed winner this season over shorter and ran a fine race to finish third last month in the Hardwicke Stakes over 1m 4f on soft ground at Royal Ascot. Returning to this distance suits him in first-time tongue-tie.

Selection: Hukum @ 9/4 with bet365

2.40 Newmarket – bet365 Mile Handicap (1m)

Kaheall is attempting a four-timer for William Haggas and Tom Marquand and returns to the turf with every chance but unbeaten Godolphin colt ROYAL FLEET is a big threat to all. The son of Dubawi conceded a penalty on his seasonal bow in April at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) and did so in good style. An opening mark of 93 is workable for him.

Selection: Royal Fleet @ 6/4 with bet365

3.00 Ascot – Betfred Summer Mile Stakes (Group 2, 1m)

Century Dream held off market leader Top Rank to win a Listed event at Windsor last month and both come here with chances. So do Sir Busker and TILSIT, who are both dropped in class. The latter has very low mileage and his Longchamp second to Skalleti in May came at Group 1 level. That form adds up and the four-year-old is still improving and can achieve more yet.

Selection: Tilsit @ 5/1 with bet365

3.15 Newmarket – bet365 Superlative Stakes (Group 2, 7f)

Dhabab and Great Max ran cracking races in defeat at Royal Ascot and have claims here, while Charlie Appleby’s recent record in this race demands that Native Trail and Private Signal are noted. The latter was beaten on debut at Doncaster by Mark Johnston’s AUSTRIAN THEORY and the market is perhaps underestimating the latter now. He looked green in front at Town Moor but should know lots more now and will surely improve from the debut.

Selection: Austrian Theory @ 16/1 with bet365

3.35 Ascot – Betfred Heritage Handicap (5f)

Hurricane Ivor came good at Sandown last weekend and William Haggas’ French import could go well again from 5lb higher if this doesn’t come too soon. BOUNDLESS POWER continued his steady progress this term when scoring at Nottingham in May. He has twice won on soft ground this season already and despite going up 3lb will be more at home on the forecast going than plenty of his rivals.

Selection: Boundless Power @ 12/1 with bet365

3.50 Newmarket – bet365 Bunbury Cup (Heritage Handicap, 7f)

The likes of Perotto, Fundamental and Jumaira Bay could prove well handicapped and are in form, while Ametist is not discounted under a penalty for his recent course-and-distance win. BOARDMAN wasn’t helped by the draw at Royal Ascot. Tim Easterby’s Kingman gelding may bounce back from that and could be some each-way value given his previous progressive performances this term.

Selection: Boardman @ 12/1 with bet365

4.05 York – John Smith’s Cup Handicap (1m 2½f)

Surrey Pride scored impressively over course and distance in May and joins Astro King in holding a leading claim, the latter having finished second best in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last time out. VICTORY CHIME could go well at a decent price based on his Epsom runs this season. The Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot proved beyond him last month but Ralph Beckett’s charge is a prolific winner and he went into that on the back of a career best. Back in a handicap he’s no forlorn hope.

Selection: Victory Chime @ 22/1 with bet365

4.25 Newmarket – Darley July Cup Stakes (Group 1, 6f)

History is against Oxted retaining this crown – it’s 62 years since any horse retained the Group 1 sprint – but he comes here flying after his King’s Stand Stakes win at Ascot over 5f last time. Three-year-olds have won four of the last six renewals and Creative Force, Rohaan and DRAGON SYMBOL are major forces now. The last-named lost the Commonwealth Cup in the stewards’ room but he gave up little else in defeat, enhancing his reputation in a protracted duel with the filly Campanelle. He gets the weight allowance now and can gain compensation under Oisin Murphy.

Selection: Dragon Symbol @ 11/2 with bet365

4.40 York – John Smith's City Walls Stakes (Listed, 5f)

Dakota Gold ended last season in red-hot form but lack of a recent run is a worry here. Along with last year’s winner Moss Gill, Tarboosh and Irish raider URBAN BEAT, they form a quartet all capable at their best of winning this. Johnny Murtagh’s charge Urban Beat was just behind Tarboosh at Doncaster in last season’s Scarbrough Stakes, with the other pair behind them. He arrives having recently won a valuable handicap at the Curragh and will have no worries on this easy ground.

Selection: Urban Beat @ 8/1 with bet365
