ITV Saturday starts here with a handicap over 1m2f. There’s a chance LADY BOBA is well handicapped here for Ralph Beckett and Rob Hornby. The daughter of Lope de Vega stays well and is back in trip after an easy win at Ffos Las last time. However, it’s her run the time before behind Real Gain that maker her interesting. Real Gain has won off 91 at Newmarket since and the form looks strong.

ITV also go to Ascot for the Listed Rous Stakes over 5f. There are some old favourites in here none more so than EMARAATY ANA who has been a terrific servant over the years. Group 1 comply has been too much for him this term but I would imagine this might be a prep for the Breeders’ Cup as in November last year he was second to Caravel in the Grade 1 Turf Sprint. At the age of seven he shouldn’t be done with the game and while he’s not the easiest to win with this is a golden opportunity.

A sales race for juveniles over 6f. Very hard to get away from ZOULU CHIEF here for Heather Main and Gina Mangan which would provide both of them with a huge pot. Rated 97, Zoulu Chief was a fine winner at York and Windsor and has got better and better since finishing last in the Coventry at Royal Ascot.

Up in class here for the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge over 1m4f. I wonder if both Al Aasy and Israr will run? Of the two I would think ISRAR will be better suited to fast conditions and he’s rated 2lb higher although has to give 2lb. Israr was a fine winner at Newmarket two runs ago and then didn’t seem to enjoy Kempton behind Bay Bridge which was his first start on the all-weather.

ITV show one from Redcar in the Two-Year-Old Trophy over 6f. DRAGON LEADER has looked really good this term in three wins and a second at Doncaster and should be far too good for this lot for Clive Cox and Richard Kingscote. Gets loads of weight from Kylian.

Another Group 3 in the Bengough Stakes over 6f. JUMBY has strong place claims at least here for Charlie Bishop and Eve Johnson Houghton. A winner over 7f at Haydock in June, Jumby has been a non-runner in a couple of likely races since and then was down the field at York before a poor last at Doncaster. This ground will suit and so may the drop to a strongly run 6f.

The class race of the day in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes over 1m. Meditate is one Im very interested in at Breeders’ Cup but to be honest while she’s short INSPIRAL should be very hard to stop for John & Thady Gosden and Frankie Dettori. With a mark of 118 she’s the best in here and her success in the Jacques le Marois was really good when denying Big Rock who links form with Arc hero Ace Impact. She won the Fillies’ Mile at about this time in 2021.

A handicap over 7f. ORBAAN hasn’t had much luck recently but I think he’s every chance of hitting the frame here for David O’Meara and Jason Hart off a mark of 90. The old boy ran a fair race at York last time when finishing off well, and also ran well here in July when seventh in the International Stakes behind Baradar who was a winner for this blog and reopposes. Was not sighted in the Hunt Cup but was rated 97 then and it was over a mile.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
