How to watch Michigan State vs. Washington on Peacock: Live stream, kickoff time

The biggest game of Michigan State’s non-conference schedule is here, and it will be played under circumstances that almost nobody could have foreseen a week ago: with Mel Tucker suspended and Harlon Barnett acting as interim coach.

You can only watch it on Peacock.

Under a new agreement, the MSU/Washington game is among the Big Ten games that air exclusively on Peacock this season.

Heisman Trophy candidate Michael Penix Jr. brings what’s been a high-flying Washington offense to Spartan Stadium for arguably the biggest game on the Week 3 college football schedule.

Michigan State will look to rally at the end of a tumultuous week that saw Mel Tucker suspended on Sunday amid an investigation of sexual harassment.

The Spartans enter the game 2-0 but haven’t faced anything like the caliber of team that Washington is likely to bring. The Huskies won the 2022 meeting between the two teams, 39-28, in Seattle.

Five must-reads before kickoff:

* The college football world will be looking to see how Michigan State responds on the field at the end of a week of off-field turmoil. Acting coach Harlon Barnett says his players have been “mission focused” this week.

* Mark Dantonio will be back at Spartan Stadium this weekend, and not just because the program is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its Rose Bowl team. Dantonio is returning as an associate head coach under Barnett in a unique role for the veteran coach.

* Beyond just this week, Michigan State coaches will be tasked with not only keeping Michigan State’s committed recruits in the fold but keeping the players on the current roster in East Lansing and out of the transfer portal.

* On the field, Michigan State will need to stop a Washington offense that ranks in the top 10 in the country – and one that gave it plenty of trouble last year.
