I can't guarantee a winner but there will be floods of tears on my final Royal Ascot ride, says Frankie Dettori

I may not be able to guarantee a winner on my final day riding at Royal Ascot but it will certainly be a very emotional day for me.

My family are all here with me, as many of them have been over the last four days. It’s been brilliant.

I know I will get the most fantastic reception from everyone who will be at the track today.

I’m sure you know me well by now. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I love this meeting so much.

So, yes, win, lose or draw when I ride in my last Royal meeting race at 5.35 I’m sure the tears will come.

Come what may today, this week is up there as one of my most memorable.

The first win of the week was so special on Gregory but the Gold Cup win on Courage Mon Ami was out of this world!

That put me on 79 winners and I wanted one more this week to end on 80.

Well, I’m now ahead of schedule after a double yesterday on Porta Fortuna and Coppice.

Hopefully, I can put on one last Royal show for everyone, although it won’t be the last time I ride at the track as I’ve already pencilled in October 21 Champions’ Day.

I ride in five of the seven races, starting with COVEY (3.05) who has a great chance based on his win at Haydock last time out.

Then I’m on KINROSS (3.40) in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.

The race has been renamed in honour of our Late Queen so I’d love to win it as I had many special days riding for Her Majesty.

Kinross has won five times for me. He is better with a bit of ease in the ground but he is a solid performer and I love him.

FREE WIND (4.10) is another with a good chance. Here the fast ground will suit my mare while it may not suit favourite Hukum.

MUMS TIPPLE (5.00) has a good record here but, if there is one race this week where you need luck, it’s this one — the Wokingham. Fingers crossed we get it.

Then it’s time for my final Royal meeting ride on KNOCKBREX (5.35).

Charlie Johnston booked me a while ago for him so I think they are confident he will go well.

It would be great to sign off with a winner — but, either way, it’s been one helluva ride.
