Illinois sports betting revenue tops $1 billion milestone

Illinois surpassed $1 billion in gross gaming revenue since it was legalized in March 2020. New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania were the only states to reach the plateau. Illinois sportsbooks have produced over $167 million in tax revenue to state and local authorities since the industry launched. Sports wagering has generated about $60 million for Illinois this year. Since the beginning of legal sports betting, over $148 billion has been bet in the United States.
