Ipswich Town: Early betting odds for Championship 23/24 season

Ipswich Town may only have just won promotion from League One - but they're already among the favourites to go up from the Championship next season.

Incredibly, Sky Bet has the Blues listen as 4/1 joint second favourites to go straight through the second tier and into the Premier League next campaign.

Watford are the 5/2 favourites, with both Town and Stoke listed at 4/1.

Swansea are third on 11/2.

Obviously, these are very early odds - we don't yet know who will be relegated from the Premier League, or who will go up via the Championship and League One play-offs.

Wigan and Blackpool were both relegated to the third tier on Saturday. It looks very likely Reading will join them in due course.

Elsewhere, Southampton look certain to be one of the sides coming down from the Premier League, with giants Everton and recent winners Leicester City also currently in the bottom three.

Any or all of those sides, if relegated, would surely be among the favourites to bounce straight back up.

Leicester and Everton meet in a huge relegation six-pointer at the King Power Stadium tonight (8pm).

So, while these early odds should be taken with a large pinch of salt - and will clearly change a lot over the summer - it is at least a sign of the huge momentum around Town at the moment, and the feeling nationally that the club is its way back to the very top table.
