JAI HERBERT VS FARES ZIAM LOWDOWN

Jai Herbert (12-4-1) has had a wild ride in the UFC fighting a bunch of killers . He got finished by Francisco Trinaldo (2020), Renato Moicano (2021) and Ilia Topuria (2022) who is next in line for a title shot. However, he has shown glimpses of his class knocking out Khama Worthy (2021), outpointing Kyle Nelson (2022) and now he is coming off a draw with Ludovit Klein (2023).

He takes on yet another tough up and coming fighter in Fares Ziam (13-4). He is 3-2 in the UFC now after outpointing Michal Figlak at UFC Fight Night 209 in front of his home crowd in France. That came after getting submitted by Terrance McKinney and now he is desperate to get a run going.

JAI HERBERT VS FARES ZIAM PREDICTION

They match up very similarly physically and are both dangerous on the feet. Herbert is more aggressive and constantly moves creating angles to hurt from range. Ziam is also technical and good at range utilizing leg kicks.

We give Herbert the edge on the feet, but Ziam’s grappling has improved and we expect him to bring it out the bag as the Brummie’s takedown defence is rather suspect.

We can see them both being cautious which will suit Ziam. Herbert will have the home crowd behind him and we can see him catching the Frenchman’s chin. So, there is a lot of value on his as the underdog, but Ziam continues to evolve and we feel his grappling will convince a couple of the judges at least.
