Jared Anderson vs Andriy Rudenko

Location of the game: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tulsa, OK.

Date and Time: Saturday, August 26. 9:00 PM ET est. ring walk.

How to Watch: ESPN+

Anderson is coming off a big test in a unanimous decision win over Charles Martin in July, breaking his 100% KO rate.

Rudenko is coming off a TKO win over Bojan Cestic in January.

Anderson is one of the most exciting American heavyweight boxing prospects in the last twenty years. At age 23, Anderson now has a professional record of 15-0 with 14 KOs in his past boxing matches.

His amateur career was very successful, with him bringing home two gold medals at the 2017 and 2018 US National Championships. “Big Baby” is a very physically imposing young man at 6’4” with a 78.5” reach to go along with his punching power and hand speed.

Rudenko is a Ukrainian boxer with a professional record of 35-6 with 21 KOs under his belt at the age of 39.

After serving his country in the war for a couple of years, he made his return to boxing earlier in 2023 with a big TKO win. He is only listed at 6’0” with a 73” reach, which may be a hurdle he needs to get over to be able to get on the inside of Anderson.

His size has not been a big factor in most of his fights, but it’s worth noting that all six of his losses have come at the hands of undefeated, legit, rising contenders.

There are no injuries reported to ESPN.

Before making any important boxing predictions, you need to take extra time to preview both the betting lines and the potential outcomes of the fight. In this case, the Jared Anderson vs Andriy Rudenko prediction revolves around what the best available betting lines are.

According to boxing odds, Anderson is coming in as the massive -3000 betting favorite over the +1360 Rudenko. In the 10-round fight, it’s +380 to make it to the scorecards. Anderson is -480 to get the job done via KO, and Rudenko is +1800 to do the same.

From the technical view of this matchup, Anderson has a big advantage in athletic ability, and that will always go a long way in heavyweight boxing. Rudenko is a very solid boxer who stays defensively responsible and does very well with being undersized in the majority of his fights.

Anderson gets very confident with his speed and power, which led to him being rocked late in his last fight against Martin a little over a month ago. That was a big learning point for the kid, and he needs to stay focused every second of this fight. Rudenko will look to take chances throughout to land the heavier shots to the head.

After breaking down this fight both analytically and technically on the film, it’s going to be pretty much impossible to bet against Anderson–even with the odds being where they are at.

Rudenko is a very solid veteran boxer who is tough, durable, and always game to fight when he steps into the ring. This is going to be a very interesting test for the 23-year-old rising star.

  • The official Jared Anderson vs Andriy Rudenko prediction is that Anderson will start breaking the older fighter down and get the KO victory in round 7.

This will give him time to get some work in and show some more of his game, but he knows he needs to hunt for a KO to keep his resume where he wants it going forward.
