Kansas City Royals vs. New York Mets Prediction 8-3-23 MLB Picks

Mets All Out On Wednesday

The New York Mets lost Max Scherzer because owner Steve Cohen told Scherzer he couldn’t promise that the Mets were going all-in and it’s starting to show on the field after New York was shut out 4-0 in Wednesday’s matchup. The loss pushed the Mets to 50-57 on the year, sitting 19.5 games back in the NL East and 7 games back in the NL Wild Card race. Pete Alonso leads the Mets with 31 home runs and 77 RBIs while Brandon Nimmo has a team-best 102 hits with a .256 batting average. Francisco Lindor also has 21 home runs and 65 RBIs for the Mets this season as well as a team-best 23 doubles. Chris’ Pick

I never thought I’d be saying this but give me the Royals for the sweep. The Mets just look like they’ve given up and are resigned to their fates and continue to be up there with the Padres and Cardinals for the most disappointing teams in baseball this season. Kansas City knew they were going to be rebuilding, but that hasn’t stopped them lately and the Royals are getting some of Brady Singer’s best baseball of the season right now. I’ll back the Royals in this one.
