Ken Pengitore is running for mayor in Haledon. He lost the last election to Michael Johnson, who is now running on a Democratic ticket. Pengiertore was a high school and college football player. He was mayor during some of the most significant changes in local history. The Haleson Reservoir was sold for $6.5 million to the borough of Franklin Lakes. It is used as a nature preserve. In the general election, Pengidore will face Johnson. Johnson is joined on the ticket by Council President Mounir Almaita and Councilwoman Nereyda Curiel.
