King Of Queens: Repole Gets a 1-2 Belmont Stakes Finish with Mo Donegal and Nest

Mo Donegal won the Wood Memorial-Belmont double. Jose Ortiz, Jr. was the runner-up. Mo Donegal is the first horse to register the double since Empire Maker in 2003. The horse was a game nose winner in last December's GII Remsen S. and came third in Gulfstream's GIII Holy Bull S Feb. 5. He was scratched from the G II Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth S after drawing very wide and developing a minor virus. In April, he won by a neck over Gun Runner in the the gII Wood memorial S and Repole joined the ownership group.

Mo Donegal is the 11th Grade I winner for Ashford Stud's leading sire Uncle Mo. Repole and Pletcher worked together to campaign the champion 2-year-old colt of 2010. This is also the seventh Grade II winner of Pulpit's dam Callingmissbrown. The only foal of Calling Missbrown that has been bred since is Prank (Into Mischief). Pranks foaled from Alex Solis II and Jason Litt at KEESEP. Belmont S.P.G. is presented by NYRA at $1,500,000, 6-11, 3-1/2 m, 2:28.28 ft.
