Kyprios to make a winning return at the Curragh?

Irish Champions Weekend draws to a fitting conclusion at the Curragh on Sunday. Four Group One races feature on the card, including the Irish version of the St Leger which, unlike the British St Leger - which takes place at Doncaster next Saturday - is open to horses of three years old or over.

Here's our free guide to the 2023 Irish St Leger, including our best betting tips.

2023 Irish St Leger Tips - Eldar Eldarov

No three-year-olds have been declared for Sunday's feature at the Curragh. The disappointing turnout could diminish even further if Aidan O'Brien decides the ground is too quick for Emily Dickinson to take her chance.

Kyprios is the firm favourite, despite his inactivity so far this season. The two backmarkers in the betting are Yashin and Dawn Rising, who're both rated 17 pounds lower than the market leader.

The only genuine challenger to Kyprios is ELDAR ELDAROV, who has been disappointing on his last two starts. Roger Varian has been keen to make his St Leger winner into a Cup horse this term, but Eldar Eldarov ran a shocker in the Ascot Gold Cup and was beaten six lengths behind Quickthorn in the Goodwood Cup last time out.

Eldar Eldarov has only raced over 14 furlongs on three occasions. David Egan's mount won the Queen's Vase last season before striking in the St Leger, and Varian's colt ran a cracker over this distance on his reappearance this term, finishing a close second to Giovellotto when giving the winner five pounds at the weights.

The Irish St Leger has been the plan for Eldar Eldarov since his run at Glorious Goodwood and he could be on-hand to take advantage if Kyprios is not revved up to the max.
