Lakers vs. Warriors prop bets Jan. 27: Fade Draymond Green in tough rebounding matchup

The Golden State Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

The pregame narrative: Draymond Green has been a mess this season and is worth fading on the glass against Anthony Davis and company. Meanwhile, Steph Curry should be able to expose L.A.'s porous perimeter defence.

NBA oddsas of 2:46 p.m. on 01/27/2024.

Lakers vs. Warriors prop bets

Best Bet: Green under 6.5 rebounds (-112)

This has all the makings of a smash play.

Green has fallen under this total in two straight games and four of his past five. He's been consistently underperforming and now faces a nightmare matchup with the Lakers.

Los Angeles has the third-best defensive rebounding rate in the NBA (73.0%) and allows the second-fewest rebounds per game to opposing power forwards, according to Fantasy Pros.

That's one of the benefits of employing The Brow.

And to be honest, you could argue Green doesn't even belong in Golden State's starting lineup anymore. The veteran has been suspended multiple times this season and is averaging just 5.5 rebounds per game, the lowest mark since his 2013-14 sophomore season.

When Green hasn't been on the court, third-year stud Jonathan Kuminga has been putting on a clinic. He has logged five straight games with 20-plus points and is starting to deservedly eat into Green's minutes.

Don't expect Green to do much tonight.

Key stat: Green has recorded fewer than seven rebounds in 11 of 18 games this season (61.1%).

Quick pick

Curry over 4.5 threes (-108): The Warriors need to start winning games ASAP and Curry catching fire is the only way that's going to happen.

The two-time MVP has done just that in his past two games, shooting a combined 11-of-22 from deep and clearing this line in both contests.

It only took him one quarter against the Sacramento Kings on Friday to reach five triples, too.

Tonight's matchup against the Lakers should be a favourable one. Los Angeles' opponents are shooting 37.4% from deep this season (11th-highest rate in the NBA). The team also allows the seventh-most 3-pointers per game to opposing point guards.
