League One 1-24 Predictions 2022/23: Will Derby, Wednesday Or Portsmouth Go Up?

League One predictions are based on the current standings. The division is stacked with the likes of Portsmouth, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side are in for a tough season. Burton Albion finished in the bottom half last term.

Port Vale won the League Two play-off final last season. Darrell Clarke and David Flitcroft are the team's main managers. James Wilson's injury means Port Vale are in need of reinforcements.

Michael Duff has left Cheltenham Town for Barnsley. Wade Elliott takes over at Chelton Town. Will Boyle has moved to the Championship with Huddersfield.

Forest Green Rovers have lost their manager Rob Edwards to Watford, Kane Wilson to Bristol City, Ebou Adams to Cardiff and Nicky Cadden to Barnsley.

Derek Adams' Morecambe side are struggling to avoid the drop. Caleb Watt has been signed from the Championship side.

Fleetwood Town finished 19th last season. Callum Morton and Brendan Wiredu have been signed. Scott Brown will be the manager, but he has no experience in the game.

Accrington Stanley finished 12th last season. John Coleman's team has one of the smallest budgets in the league. Accrington have lost Ross Sykes and Colby Bishop.

Mark Kennedy was appointed manager of Lincoln City this summer. Lincoln finished 17th last season. Lincoln has enjoyed high highs over the past decade.

Shrewsbury Town finished 18th last season. Tom Bayliss and Jordan Shipley have arrived this summer. Julien Dacosta has joined on loan from Coventry City.

Exeter City finished 15th last season. They have only signed Jamal Blackman this summer. Matt Taylor is in charge of the group.

Bristol Rovers won promotion on the final day of the season. Joey Barton's side beat Scunthorpe 7-0 to earn their place in the top flight. John Marquis has something to prove at the highest level.

Cambridge United finished 14th last season. Mark Bonner is the coach at Cambridge. Joe Ironside is a complete forward.

Oxford United are 11th in the table. Karl Robinson's team fell short of the play-offs last season. Luke McNally left for Burnley. Cameron Brannagan remains a top midfielder, Matty Taylor is a great goalscorer and Josh Murphy is an intriguing addition.

Derby County are the current third favourite to win the league. They have been on a recruitment drive since getting their takeover. However, they are not doing well enough and I predict they will miss out on the play-offs altogether.

Portsmouth missed out on the play-offs last season. Colby Bishop and Joe Piggott lack pace up top. Marlon Pack should be a good signing. Danny Cowley should get the best out of him.

Wycombe Wanderers finished 8th last season. Gareth Ainsworth signed a new contract. Sam Vokes and Garath McCleary will continue to cause problems for opposition defences. Wycombe lost to Sunderland in the play-off final last term.

Barnsley finished bottom of the Championship last season. Michael Duff has joined the team. Callum Styles, Mads Andersen and Michal Helik remain in the squad. James Norwood has not quite fit the bill for me.

Ian Evatt's Bolton Wanderers finished 10 points outside the top six last season. Portsmouth picked up 47 points from 22 games in the second half of the season and are optimistic about their play-off ambitions this season, but they need to find some consistency.

Plymouth Argyle finished 5th in League One last season. Steven Schumacher's side missed out on a play-off spot. Bali Mumba and Mickel Miller will be additions to Artyle's squad.

Liam Manning is one of the best managers in League One. Liam Sweeting has helped lay the foundations for long-term success at Portsmouth.

Grant McCann won the League One title with Hull City. Peterborough United are a team that can win the league this time around.
