Lions vs. Ravens Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 7

The Baltimore (4-2) Ravens host the Detroit Lions (5-1) in what could be a windy affair as we make our best Lions vs. Ravens predictions based on the best NFL odds.

The Detroit Lions have won each of their last four games by at least 14 points, with two of those victories coming on the road. They allow the fewest rushing yards per game in the league, while the offense averages 383.7 yards per game and 28.0 points per game.

The Baltimore Ravens have been up and down this season. They’ve split their last four games to fall to 4-2 after opening the year with consecutive wins. Baltimore's losses have come home to the Indianapolis Colts and on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

NFL Week 7 Upsets to go with our best Lions vs. Ravens prediction and our NFL picks (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Lions vs. Ravens prediction

Under 43 (-110 via bet365, DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This play was originally going to be Lions +3. However, with windy conditions expected in Baltimore, throwing the ball on Sunday may be challenging. Because of that, the Lions will need to rely on their running game, which may be a problem with running back David Montgomery expected to miss this week. Therefore, we’re pivoting to the Under.

Only two Ravens’ games have seen listed totals of 44 or more this season, and the highest-scoring game over their last four outings was 40 points. Baltimore has scored 20 or more twice along that span, and only one of their opponents has hit that mark.

The Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson will be much more comfortable relying on the run than the Lions. They average 144.8 rushing yards per game but only put up 208.8 through the air. However, the Lions have the best run defense in football, allowing only 64.7 rushing yards per game. Their defense has yet to face a QB that can run like Jackson, but they should be able to hold the Ravens to 24 points or fewer as they have done with five of their six opponents this season.

The Lions’ offense has been fantastic this year, but they have yet to deal with less-than-ideal weather conditions for a game. Though it won’t rain Sunday, the wind may challenge quarterback Jared Goff and prevent any over-the-top action. That, combined with the fact that the Ravens allow only 197.7 passing yards per game, is not a recipe for points.

Lions vs. Ravens best odds

FanDuel is the only one of the best sports betting apps offering this total above 43. However, they’re asking -115 for 43.5. That price increase is not worth it for just a half-point.

We recommend placing this bet at bet365 or DraftKings when considering other best sports betting sites. While their price for this under is the same as BetMGM and Caesars, they’re offering a better price for the Lions +3, which is what we would play if we were parlaying this game.

Lions vs. Ravens odds

The Ravens opened as 2.5-point favorites, and despite 59% of wagers backing the Lions, the number has grown to three. However, all the best sportsbooks offer an inflated price for the Lions +3, some as high as -120. Because of that, we expect this number to drop back to 2.5 before kickoff.

The total opened at 43.5. 64% of wagers back the over, but the number has either stayed put or dropped at each site with the best sportsbook promos. With winds expected to reach 20-plus miles per hour consistently, we don’t expect this number to go any higher than it is now.
