Louie Varland, Marcus McKenzie share relationship with Twins

Marcus McKenzie and Louie Varland were both pitching coaches at Concordia University St. Paul. Varlands became the first player in the program's history to make it to the Major Leagues. McKenzie is now the visiting clubhouse manager at Target Field. He started his career in baseball as a ballboy and then as the son of Mark McKenzie, who ran the baseball program at the university. Marcus is also a visiting manager for the Minnesota Twins. He was promoted to full-time visiting room manager in 2018. The last season of his coaching career was at his last college. It was also his first season as visiting team manager.

Louie Varland and Marcus McKenzie are teammates with the Twins. Varlands hasn't told Gray about that yet. He was a pitcher at D-II school.
