The LSU Tigers are coming off an impressive home win against Auburn, and they’ll be back in Death Valley this week against the Army Black Knights.

The Tigers finally get a break from SEC play after five straight conference contests, and the oddsmakers have them as heavy favorites for this Saturday’s non-conference battle.

The early betting line at Caesars Sportsbook has the Tigers as 30-point favorites over the Black Knights, with the over/under total set at 57.5 points.

The Tigers are 5-2 on the season and have now opened as the favorite in every game they’ve been in, and their record against the spread is a solid 4-3.

The last two weeks have seen the Tigers win straight up and cover, with last week’s 48-18 triumph over Auburn being their widest margin of victory so far during SEC play.

The Black Knights are 2-4 on the season and 2-3-1 against the spread, with their defense being their strength having allowed no more than 29 points in a game.

That number will likely go up on Saturday against an explosive LSU offense averaging 45 points a game with Heisman candidate Jayden Daniels leading the way.

Daniels ranks third in the nation in passing yards with 2,294 on the season, and the Tigers also have the nation’s leading receiver in Malik Nabers, who’s got 860 receiving yards.

The Black Knights offense is coming off a rough outing against Troy in which they got shut out, but the Tigers defense had been struggling mightily until last week’s turnaround.

Kickoff for this Saturday’s contest between the Tigers and the Black Knights is set for 6:30 p.m. in Baton Rouge and will air on the SEC Network.
