Nery is a 5’5” Mexican boxer out of Tijuana, fighting out of a very tricky southpaw stance. He shows lots of power with his left hand and does really well going to the body of his opponents. He’s coming off of arguably the fight of the year, and it will be interesting to see how he looks.

The former world title holder has a professional record of 32-1, with 24 KOs under his belt at the age of 28. Nery fights with the classic “Mexican fighting spirit,” which is basically a high-pace style and a great chin.

Saludar is a journeyman boxer out of the Philippines that stands 5’5” and fights out of an orthodox stance. At age 34, Saludar is at the end of his peak athletic condition and isn’t quite the world-class boxer he could have been years ago.

He fought for the WBO World Flyweight belt against Sho Kimura back in 2018, where he started fast, and then by round 4, it seemed to be going downhill–resulting in a 6th round KO. Saludar is 2-3 in his last five fights, and to be frank, he hasn’t beaten anybody with a notable record in his entire career.

There are no injuries reported to Golden Boy Promotions or ESPN.

If we take a look at the few available boxing odds for this matchup, Nery is obviously the big favorite but can be found anywhere from -1600 to -699 betting odds. In comparison, his opponent Saludar is anywhere from +900 to +500.

You can get Nery winning via TKO/KO at -350. This isn’t quite a worldwide level of fight, so sportsbooks might not be releasing more betting lines until later in the week–make sure to keep an eye on those lines.

The Nery vs Saludar betting prediction will be very difficult to make because of the lack of available lines and odds. It’s easy to make a prediction on a -1600 favorite, but there is always a way to make the most money possible.

On the technical side of this matchup, it’s pretty clear who passes the ‘eye test’ while watching old footage of past fights. First of all, Saludar looks like he hasn’t been on a televised card in years. Also, Nery is just a world-class fighter, and that’s all there is to say.

Nery will bring pressure and land constant shots to both the head and body of his opponents. He thrives in wars of fights but can also easily out-box anybody that isn’t in the top 10 of the division.

When you are trying to make correct boxing picks for your betting slate, make sure you take the time to do research on both fighters in a certain bout. For this one, there are lots of videos on YouTube of old fights from both guys.

  • The official Nery vs Saludar betting prediction is Nery to get the job done rather easily.

He is a much better fighter and will be using this fight as a way to stay ready for any big fights coming in the near future. A late-round stoppage is the most likely outcome. Nery will wear down Saludar with body shots and pressure as the fight goes on.
