Spurs to control clash

Luton picked up their first win of the Premier League season against Everton last weekend but they look up against it when they host Spurs in this early kick-off.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were at the centre of a major controversy as they beat Liverpool 2-1 last weekend but remain one of just two unbeaten teams in the top flight.

The post-match reaction to Tottenham’s win over Liverpool last weekend has centred on the game’s officiating but it must be noted that Spurs have been one of the most impressive sides in the Premier League this season.

Postecoglou has drastically changed the side’s style of play and they have subsequently won five and drawn two of their opening seven games.

They take on a Luton side who have lost five of their seven matches as they have struggled to adjust to the standard of the top flight.

Rob Edwards has done a good job with the resources at his disposal but the visitors should be too strong in this clash.

With no European football to focus on, Spurs remain fresher than most teams and they are fancied for a comfortable success.

Only three teams have netted more than Tottenham’s 17 goals and they can overcome a goal deficit on the handicap.

Kulusevski to impress

Injuries to Manor Solomon and a knock to Brennan Johnson mean that Dejan Kulusevski looks unlikely to lose his starting berth on the right side of Spurs’ forward line.

The Swede has been a persistent threat this season and has already netted twice.

Only three players have registered more shots than Kulusevski’s 16 and up against a leaky Luton backline, he is fancied to score again.

Sarr to take a pop

There have been three or more goals in 13 of Tottenham's last 16 Premier League matches and with Postecoglou’s attacking style, a repeat of that looks likely in this match.

One of the big revelations in Tottenham’s line-up this season has been the impressive performances of midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.

The youngster has shown his liking for efforts at goal, averaging 3.28 shots per 90 minutes.

Against a Luton team who will look to get men behind the ball, Sarr is likely to take his chances from range and the 21-year-old could have three or more shots in this match.

Carlton Morris has been Luton’s primary goal threat this season, netting three times and taking a team-leading 18 shots.

He looks their likeliest route to goal in this match and is fancied for a shot on target.
