Man United vs Newcastle United prediction and odds ahead of EFL Cup final

Manchester United are at least 90 minutes away from lifting their first trophy under Erik ten Hag and first in six years as the Red Devils travel to Wembley Stadium to face high-flying Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final. This will be the first meeting between the two sides in a cup final since 1999 and only the fourth time in this competition.

United are the favourites going into this match at 6/5 with Betfred to lift their first League Cup trophy since 2017 while Newcastle United are 12/5 to win in their second final appearance in the competition and first since 1976 and a draw after 90 minutes is 23/10.

Eddie Howe's side has worked wonders and has now secured Newcastle's first final this century as the Toon hope to win their first domestic trophy since 1955 when they won the FA Cup. Having seen off Tranmere Rovers, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton in this competition, they will be hoping for one more win - despite their recent form. No Nick Pope is a huge blow for them and will be looking towards either Loris Karius or Mark Gillespie to fill in the gap.

Tips

  • Marcus Rashford to score anytime - 6/5

  • Man United to win - 6/5
