Mass. Gaming Commission: 'Late January' in-person sports betting launch
Massachusetts Gaming Commission passed a motion that established January as the launch date for in-person sports betting. Mobile sports gambling will be launched in time for the NCAA basketball tournament on March 14. Commissioner Nakisha Skinner abstained from the vote. Sports betting was legalized by state lawmakers in a last-minute deal in August. It will require the creation of more than 200 regulations. The timeline is vague, but it is the most specific timeline yet in the discussion of sports betting’s launch in Massachusetts.
