Sports betting could start as soon as January, Mass. Gaming Commission says
The Gaming Commission has agreed on the launch dates for in-person and mobile betting in Massachusetts. The launch date for Category 1 is late January. It's also designated "early March" for the Category 3 or mobile operators. Commissioner Nakisha Skinner abstained from the vote. The commission will celebrate the decision at a party. "OK, there we go, everyone. Let's make it a parties," chairwoman Cathy Judd-Stein said. She was the only commissioner to vote no. They agreed to the timeline after a long debate. There are still some caveats.
