Masters Betting Odds & Sunday Predictions: Koepka Leads Rahm By 4-Strokes

Forbes

With a commanding four-stroke lead, Brooks Koepka leads the way through the first 2.5 rounds at Augusta. Now a -115 favorite to win his first Green Jacket, Koepka finds himself sitting at -13, followed by world No. 3 John Rahm (-9), with the duo scheduled for a 30 hole battle to the finish Sunday. Sam Bennett sits behind them at -6.

Koepka’s impressive performance on the course has largely been overshadowed by the weather. A cold and wet Saturday morning saw action grind to a halt, with high winds bringing down a pair of the courses storied pines, narrowly missing the gallery.

The unusual weather and stoppage has created its own share of issues for those betting on the Masters.

"The weather has created some weird wagering outcomes for the 2023 Masters Tournament," Adam Burns, Sportsbook Manager at BetOnline, said. "Nobody was really looking at Koepka before over the last few months so our liability on him isn't too great.

"I think he was getting overlooked because of a couple of factors...one, being his appearance on the "Full Swing" show, and, two, his recent play. Of course, he won coming into The Masters, which moved his odds from 60/1 to 33/1, but you still had the haters saying that he won on an easy course against an easy field so it wouldn't translate to Augusta. Boy were they wrong."

Tiger Talk

"Tiger making his 23rd straight cut definitely stung the book," Burns said. "The bettors who cashed should be counting their lucky stars because if the weather isn't as poor as it was at the end of Round 2 the cut line is probably +2, and Tiger is out."

BetOnline reported that more than 84% of Woods' make/miss cut prop bet was on him reaching the weekend. The sportsbook incurred a decent-sized loss compared to a big win with Woods making the cut at +3.

"But, it's a double-edged sword because we always want Tiger in the tournament all four days, whether he's leading or at the bottom of the board. Tiger in the field keeps eyeballs on the tournament, which in turn, increases betting activity at our book."

With this years event seemingly a two-horse race barring some sort of historic performance or collapse, bettors can also wager on “Odds to Win Masters W/O Koepka & Rahm” where they can seemingly predict the 3rd place finisher. Here the odds still offer value for those looking to wager on the more competitive battle just outside of the top.
