Mavericks vs. Celtics NBA Player Props, Odds: Picks & Predictions for Friday

sportsbookreview.com

We're offering our Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics NBA player props based on the best NBA odds as the Mavericks visit TD Garden in search of a victory against the red-hot Celtics on Friday. Can Dallas stay hot on the road, or will Boston earn another win in front of the home crowd?

The Boston Celtics own the NBA’s best record at 46-12 and sit comfortably atop the Eastern Conference, eight games ahead of the No. 2 seed Cleveland Cavaliers. Boston owns an NBA-best 27-3 record at home, but the team is just 13-7 against Western Conference opponents compared to 33-6 against the East. Boston also owns the NBA’s longest current winning streak at nine in a row and sits atop the NBA Finals odds.

With a record of 34-25, the Dallas Mavericks currently hold the seventh seed in the competitive Western Conference, where only 3.5 games separate the fifth and 10th seeds. They boast a strong 13-7 record against Eastern Conference opponents and have performed well on the road with a 16-12 record. The team has won eight of its last 10 games, thanks to strong play from Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. But can the Mavs keep up their winning ways in the hostile TD Garden and snap Boston’s winning streak?

Here are our best Mavericks vs. Celtics NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Mavericks vs. Celtics props

Jayson Tatum double-double (+125 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tatum has soared over his last five games against Dallas, averaging 31.6 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in that span. Most importantly, he’s posted a double-double in all five contests. We’ll take the plus-money odds that he extends his double-double streak against Dallas to six.

Tatum posted a double-double in his last game out, and he’s done it in 20 games this season, including four of his last seven. Dallas has allowed the 11th most points per game on the season overall (117.6) and the 10th most on the road (119). Over the last three, Dallas has surrendered the second most points per game at a whopping 126.3. The Mavs also give up the second most rebounds per game at 54.5.

We could take the Over on Tatum’s points or rebounds, but the only way to get plus-money odds is to take the double-double, which is exactly what we’ll do here.

Luka Doncic Over 49.5 points+rebounds+assists (-111 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Doncic is making a push in the NBA MVP odds, and we’re banking on another strong performance on Friday. This season, he’s averaging 52 PRAs on the road, and he posted 33 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists in his first meeting with Boston on Jan. 22. He played well against the Celtics last season, averaging 47 PRAs in two matchups. That includes a massive 59 PRA game in TD Garden.

Since the All-Star break, Doncic has been on a heater, averaging 57.9 PRAs in four contests and hitting this mark thrice. Boston’s defense has allowed the seventh-fewest points, sixth-fewest assists, and 14th-fewest rebounds this season; however, some players can’t be limited by matchups on paper.

Doncic’s stats have been otherworldly this season and even better of late. We’re taking the Over at 49.5, and this is a favorable bet up to 51.5 PRAs.

Kristaps Porzingis Over 7.5 rebounds (+102 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Porzingis is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game this season, which is the second-lowest mark of his career. He’s pulled down at least eight rebounds in 18 of his 43 appearances, but he’s in a great spot to do it again.

Porzingis posted a double-double in his last game, and in his only matchup with Dallas since leaving the team, he grabbed nine rebounds (April 1, 2022).

As mentioned above, the Mavs allow the second most rebounds per game this season. Of the top-5 teams who allow the most rebounds, Porzingis has faced the other four and averaged 8.5 rebounds, grabbing eight of them five times in six matchups. He averages 7.2 rebounds per game at home compared to 6.6 on the road, and he’s averaged 8.3 boards across his last seven home appearances, cashing this prop four times.

I’d be comfortable betting this one up to 8.5 rebounds, but we’ll gladly take it at 7.5 for plus-money odds.
