Mavericks vs. Grizzlies prediction and odds for Monday, Dec. 11

The Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies will meet up for the third time this season tonight at the FedEx Forum. The Mavericks will be without Kyrie Irving, Grant Williams, and Maxi Kleber, but they still have Luka Doncic, who can take over a game.

Dallas opened as a 2.5-point road favorite over Memphis, who has only won one game at home this season. However, the Mavericks are now 1.5-point favorites ahead of tonight's tip-off. Both teams split the first two games of the season series after Memphis won 108-94 in Dallas on Dec. 1.

Memphis Grizzlies injury report

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic: With Kyrie Irving sidelined by a right heel contusion, Dallas will need some Luka magic tonight against the Grizzlies. Doncic missed the second matchup against Memphis earlier this season, where Memphis won 108-94. However, in the first meeting vs. the Grizz on Oct. 30, the Mavs won 125-110 behind a Doncic triple-double (35 points, 12 assists, and 12 rebounds).

Memphis Grizzlies

Desmond Bane: Bane has been excellent this season as Memphis waits for Ja Morant to return from league suspension. In two games against the Mavericks, the 25-year-old shooting guard is scoring 30 points per game on 62.2% from the field and 53.8% from deep. Bane is scoring 30.5 points per game this season, which includes a 49-point effort against the Pistons.

The Mavericks will be missing 36.4 points per game, with Irving, Williams, and Kleber all listed as out. The good news for Dallas is that they have one of the best players in the league in Doncic, who makes everybody around him better.

Dallas has won two consecutive games over the Jazz and Blazers after dropping their previous two against the Thunder and Grizzlies. The Mavericks are 7-4 against the spread on the road and 6-1 ATS as road favorites this season.

As for the Grizzlies, they are an unflattering 1-9 at home this season. Their only home win came against the Jazz on Nov. 29. Memphis’ offense has struggled mightily at FedEx Forum, scoring 103.5 points (second-worst in the NBA). They could do some damage against the Mavericks’ defense tonight, which has allowed 117.1 points per game on the road.

However, it’s tough to find that third scorer on the Grizzlies to pair with Bane and Jackson Jr. It will be a close game tonight, but Doncic and the Mavericks will ultimately win.
