Mexico Open at Vidanta: Odds to Win

Following the thrilling action at the Genesis Invitational, the PGA Tour moves to Mexico for the Mexico Open. Vidanta Vallarta is the host of the event, and has been an official event of the PGA Tour Latinoamerica since 2013.

In 2021, the tournament became an official PGA Tour event, and had a prize purse of $7.3M. This season, the pool is up to $8.1M. Tony Finau won the event a season ago over Jon Rahm by three strokes. The previous season Rahm beat Finau and a pair of others by two strokes. Let’s take a look at the Mexico Open Odds 2024:

Odds to Win Mexico Open

Tony Finau +260

The top-ranked golfer in the field, and a guy that has been really good at this event the last two seasons. When making a Mexico Open Prediction it is hard to go without the thought of Finau taking it down again. The 24th ranked golfer in the world has been on the PGA Tour now since 2007. The 34-year-old could use some success to jump-start his 2024. He is coming off a tie for 19th place at the Genesis.

Nicolai Hojgaard +1800

The 22-year-old from Denmark stands 6’2, and weighs 193 pounds. He has been on the tour since 2019. He is coming off a final round 69 at the Genesis. That placed him tied for 39th. He did finish 2nd at the Farmers Insurance Open, so he has had some good rounds put together this season. Hojggard will start this event ranked 34th in the world.

Emiliano Grillo +2000

The 40th-ranked player in the world is the 31-year-old from Argentina. Grillo is a hit-or-miss candidate, which is why when you check out the Mexico Open Futures, he is listed at +2000 on the Mexico Open Odds. Grillo finds frustrating lies often but does have four Top 25 finishes so far this season. He finished last week with a final round 69, which put him in a tie for 44th in the event.

Thorbjorn Olesen +2500

Olesen is ranked 59th in the world. The 34-year-old from Denmark is an experienced player, who still would like to show off his talents on the PGA Tour. On the DP Tour, he was able to take down the title at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. He did so by six shots. This will be the first PGA Tour event for Olesen this season.

Thomas Detry +2500

When looking at the Golf Ranks, Detry comes in at 67th. The former University of Illinois golfer is now 31 years old. The Belgium native finished 20th at the Farmers Insurance, tied for 4th at Pebble Beach and 28th at the WM Phoenix Open. This came after missing the cut at American Express. Detry is +2500.

Stephan Jaeger +2500

Checking in at 75th in the world rankings, the 34-year-old from Germany is coming off a 71st place finish at Pebble Beach. That came after a solid job at the Farmers Insurance, where he was able to bring home $477K with a third place finish. Jaeger has been kind of under the radar with his talent, but an event like this would be a great time to show it off.

Keith Mitchell +3000

The 32-year-old from Chattanooga Tennessee played his college golf at Georgia. On tour since 2014, Mitchell has been known to put up some really low scores over his years. He finished tied for 10th in his last event, in Phoenix. That was able to net him $125K. He also finished top 10 at American Express, for $254K. Mitchell comes into this event ranked 73rd in the world, and has +3000 Mexico Open Odds.

Taylor Pendrith +3000

The 32-year-old from Canada finished in a tie for 9th place at the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January. That has been his most recent event. To start 2024, he went for 10th place in Hawaii for a prize cut of $209K. Pendrith played his college golf at Kent State and has been on the tour now for 10 seasons.
