Michael Owen's full 2023/24 Premier League table prediction is bad news for Spurs

Michael Owen has revealed his Premier League 2023/24 table predictions and it's worrying reading for Tottenham Hotspur fans in particular.

The former Premier League marksman has included a number of shock inclusions concerning relegation and the top four race.

But perhaps the least controversial sees him back last season’s champions Manchester City to retain the title ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United who he’s predicted to finish in the top four in that order.

Owen played for Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United throughout his Premier League career but the Toon are the only one of his former sides still in the top flight he’s failed to back.

Owen predicts the Magpies to finish 7th despite finishing 4th last season, perhaps believing Eddie Howe’s side will suffer from playing Champions League football.

But they are still predicted to finish in a proposed European place behind Chelsea and Aston Villa who he’s backed to secure Europa League football.

Meaning the glaring absence of Spurs from Europe for a second season in a row through the league table positions, with Owen placing Ange Postecoglou’s side in 9th place, below Brighton & Hove Albion who will play Europa League football this season.

Although Owen didn’t give his reasons for his placements, the possible exit of Harry Kane, who is the subject of a fresh £86million plus add ons bid from Bayern Munich, could be the key reason behind why he thinks Spurs will struggle.

But the two-time Golden Boot winner’s predictions are also bad reading for Wolves fans, who will see their team tipped for the drop alongside promoted sides Sheffield United and Luton Town.

While Vincent Kompany’s Championship winners Burnley can be seen in 16th place, one spot above Bournemouth whose new manager Andoni Iraola is yet to manage in England.

Last season’s relegation-threatened sides Nottingham Forest and Everton see themselves as high up as 13th and 12th place, whilst Brentford are the last team to win a top-half spot.
