Michael Sadlier: South Africa clash is the perfect time for Robert Baloucoune to announce himself for Ireland
Baloucoune has been playing for Emerging Ireland since 2021. He made his debut for Ulster against the Dragons in October 2018. Balou ced his first try in his eight games. His timekeeping was not a strength when he was at the Ulster Academy and with the A team. The last summer he missed the URC semi-final defeat at Stormers. He has a powerful tackling technique and defensive nous. It was a good performance against Racing 92 and Leicester. In Europe he bagged two tries. Last November he played in Argentina. This was seen as a staging post towards entry into the Six Nations.
