Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Odds

The Denver Nuggets (53-19 SU, 44-37-1 ATS) are just 2-5 SU and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against the Minnesota Timberwolves (43-41 SU, 42-42 ATS) since going 12-0 SU and 7-5 ATS in their previous 12 games against them. The Nuggets will try to shake off that losing trend with a win against the Timberwolves in Game 1 this Sunday night in Denver.

Denver has won each of its last two home games against Minnesota and is 8-2 SU in its last 10 home games against the Timberwolves. Minnesota has had the clear ATS edge in Denver however with a 7-1 ATS record in its last eight road games against the Nuggets. The OVER is 6-1 in the last seven games between these two teams.

Latest Betting Notes: Timberwolves

The Timberwolves bounced back from an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in their first play-in game with a 120-95 blowout win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in their second attempt on Friday. Karl Anthony Towns led the way with 28 points and 11 rebounds in the win while Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards both finished with double- doubles as well.

Towns has averaged 25.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game over his last five games. The Timberwolves are 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS over that stretch. Minnesota’s defense has allowed 108 points or fewer in four of those five games, helping to bring the UNDER to 8-2 in the team’s last 10 games.

Latest Betting Notes: Nuggets

The Nuggets wrapped up their regular season with a 109-95 win over the Sacramento Kings in a game that Denver was resting its starters in. While the game was meaningless in the standings as the Nuggets had already locked up the top seed in the Western Conference, it was a nice note to end the season on as the Nuggets were 1-5 SU and 3-3 ATS in the six games prior to that win.

Denver is a pedestrian 7-10 SU and 8-9 ATS since March 8. Nikola Jokic was named as an MVP finalist again after leading the Nuggets in points (24.5 per game), rebounds (11.8 per game), and assists (9.8 per game) during the regular season.

Timberwolves Player Prop: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 23.5 Points (-106)

Karl Anthony-Towns has been red-hot over his last five games, scoring at least 22 points in all five of those games and at least 24 points in each of Minnesota’s last three games. Towns elevated his game during Minnesota’s two play-in games, helping the team to force overtime against the Lakers and scoring 28 points in only 29 minutes of play against the Thunder.

The Timberwolves star made a big splash in Game 1 of the first round on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies last year, scoring 29 points to help lead the Timberwolves to an upset win as 6.5-point underdogs. Look for Towns to keep his recent hot streak going with 24 points or more against the Nuggets.

Nuggets Player Prop: Nikola Jokic Under 24.5 Points (-107)

With the Western Conference locked up, Nikola Jokic got some rest down the stretch and played in only two games in April he scored 14 points against the Houston Rockets and six points against the Utah Jazz. Jokic will not be held to such low totals on Sunday, but it’s worth noting that the Nuggets superstar hasn’t played in a meaningful game in three weeks.

It maybe difficult to get right back into top form in Game 1, especially against a Timberwolves team that has been playing great on defense of late. Jokic finished with 24 points or fewer in two of his three games against Minnesota this season, and that trend may continue in this one.
