Missouri not likely to legalize sports betting in special session

Missouri's governor called a special session to discuss sports betting. The General Assembly failed to approve the legislation earlier this year. All of Missouri's neighboring states have legalized it. It's estimated that there are 20,000 "grey" slot machines in Missouri. The bill would impose a 10% tax on sports bets, which would bring in $16 million annually. Kansas' tax rate is 10%, Illinois' is 17%, Nebraska and Tennessee are20%, and Arkansas is between 13% and 20%.   It is estimated there's 20k " grey" machines throughout the state.
