Missouri Senator “Not Good” with Residents Gambling in KS

Missouri residents are trying to access sportsbooks in Kansas. Missouri Senate Majority Leader Caleb Rowden wants to create a legal sports betting market in Missouri. Kansas has designs on Missouri's pro sports teams. He wants it to be a priority in the upcoming regular session.

Kansas launched legal sports betting to lure pro sports teams from other states where it's illegal. Kansas is targeting the NFL's KC Chiefs for re-location. Missouri has 16,000 people who gamble. Sen. Rowden is not happy with that. He wants to move forward on the issue.

Rowden hates Kansas, but admits they're doing something better than Missouri. Missouri lawmakers have been trying to legalize sports betting since May 2018. The US Supreme Court overturned PASPA and gave the choice to individual states.

Missouri Senator Rowden is unhappy that Kansas is moving ahead with gambling. He is worried that Missouri will lose millions of dollars in potential tax revenue.
