Tampa Bay Rays vs. Miami Marlins MLB Predictions Today & Odds, 6:40 PM ET

The Marlins are sending out Sandy Alcantara to oppose Rays starter Aaron Civale.

Alcantara is 6-11 on the year with a 4.16 ERA. He has 144 strikeouts through 171 innings. Over his last five starts, he’s allowed 12 earned runs.

Civale’s performance has dipped a bit since coming to Tampa Bay, but he still holds a 6-3 record with a 2.59 ERA—he’s just allowed eight earned runs through his four starts with the Rays. We like the Rays ML(-105) at BetMGM. 

The Rays offense still holds strong, averaging 5.33 runs per game (fourth in the league) to Miami’s 4.02 (27th in the league). 

Look for the Rays to get to Alcantara here, as he allows several batters on base. However, we recommend taking the moneyline for our best MLB bets today due to Civale's up-and-down nature with the club.  

Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves MLB Predictions Today & Odds, 8:40 PM ET

Next, we’re tackling our first Rockies vs. Braves prediction, focusing on MLB player props. 

Here, we’ll look at the visiting Braves and infielder Ozzie Albies. 

Albies and the rest of the Braves lineup will be up against Peter Lambert, who’s 3-4 on the year with a 4.92 ERA. 

As a switch hitter, Albies will hit lefty against the righty Lambert, which is perfect for taking the over on some total bases props, so we like Ozzie Albies 2+ Total Bases (-160) at FanDuel.

Against lefties, Lambert allows a .283 batting average, five home runs, nine doubles, and 15 walks. 

Albies is batting just .233 against righties, but he’s also had plenty more plate appearances against them (415) than lefties (101) and has 23 home runs against them.

For our best MLB bets today, take Albies to record two or more total bases. 

Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves MLB Predictions Today & Odds, 8:40 PM ET

We discussed Lambert above, and here, for our next Rockies vs. Braves prediction, we’ll tackle some MLB player props for the Braves starting pitcher in this one, Charlie Morton.

The 39-year-old righty takes on the Rockies lineup that strikes out 9.47 times per game but 8.69 times at home. The 9.47 mark is the third-worst in the league. 

Morton has a K/9 of 10.0, throwing 157 of them across 141 ⅔ innings, and we will look to target Morton Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-158) at Caesars.

In his last two starts, Morton has hit double digits on strikeouts but had four in two games before that.

Against the Rockies, it’s tempting to take the over here, but the line is 7.5. He’s met that mark in three of his last five starts, but before that, he’s hit eight strikeouts in a game once between June 18 and July 25. It’s possible for him, but it’s a bit of a feat. 

We’ll lean under here for our best MLB bets today. 

Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics MLB Predictions Today & Odds, 8:40 PM ET

Last, we’ll look at an AL West matchup and give some Mariners vs. Athletics predictions. Here, we’ll be looking at more MLB player props. Our focus is Mariners starter George Kirby. 

Going up against the Athletics, Kirby will face the worst team in baseball that strikes out more than nine times per game. Kirby, who’s 10-8 with a 3.28 ERA and 142 strikeouts across 156 ⅓ innings over 25 starts, holds an 8.2 K/9. Over his last five starts, Kirby has hit seven or more strikeouts three times, so we will look at Kirby Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-130) at DraftKings.

His line here is 7.5 strikeouts with great “+” value on the over, but if we go back to his last start against them, he managed just two strikeouts across seven innings. The game was back in May, but it’s still somewhat notable. 

This season, Kirby has had eight or more strikeouts in a game five times across 25 starts.
