MLS NEXT kicks off third season of play this weekend

The third season of play for the youth league, MLS NEXT, kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 10. It will feature 628 teams competing in nearly 8,000 matches over a ten-month calendar. Over 13,00 players from the country's leading 137 clubs, including all 29 MLS academies, will play in up to six age groups. The Whitecaps FC U-15 and U.17 academy teams will open their seasons on Sunday, September 11 against Seattle Sounders FC at the National Soccer Development Centre.

MLS NEXT Fest is being held at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California from December 2-8, 2022. It features over 300 youth teams from the United States and Canada competing in the MLS NEXT fest Showcase and Generation adidas Cup qualifiers.

The event will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex from May 12-16 2023. 16 of them will qualify for MLS Cup playoffs. 32 of top teams from regular season will compete to be crowned MLS Champion in the four oldest age group from June 17-25 2024 at Toyota Soccer Center and MoneyGram Soccer Park in Dallas-Fort Worth.

MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate will provide a world-class experience for the best young players in North America. The top MLS NEXT players will be selected by the MLS Player Selection Committee to compete in an East vs. West game.

2022-23 MLS NEXT Season Kicks Off on December 2-8, 2022. The MLS Next Fest takes place in Indio, California. Generation adidas Cup takes places in Bradenton, Florida and in Frisco, Texas. MLS next Flex takes part in Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland.
