Music City Bowl: Iowa vs Kentucky Game Center

Iowa football team finished the season as Big Ten West Champions. They will play in the Music City Bowl against the Kentucky Wildcats in 2022. Kentucky will be without a number of players, including star quarterback Will Levis and running back Chris Rodriguez. The Wildcats will also be missing tight ends Brendan Bates and Josh Kattus due to injury. Kentucky's offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello was fired at the end of the year. Iowa's team scored 22.1 points per game in 2021. It scored 21.5 points in 1922. In 2022, the team will face Kentucky in a bowl game played in Nashville.

Kentucky and Iowa have met in a bowl game once before. Last year, Kentucky won 20-17 in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl. This year's game will be the second time the two teams meet in this way. The starting lineups are similar to last year. Iowa's Sam LaPorta returns having scored a TD in last season's Citress Bowl and playing in upcoming Music City Bowl this year as well. Kentucky's Matt Ruffalo is the only player to score in both the Citros Bowl game and the upcoming one. Neither the quarterbacks nor the leading rushers from last years game are playing this time.
