NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds: Betting lines after Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum

As NASCAR puts the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum in the rearview, drivers, fans and media members alike are elated for the start of the season.

The exhibition always provides a fun preview, but the Daytona 500 during the weekend after the Super Bowl is the true beginning of the Cup Series’ campaign. The fanfare is expected to be off the charts as another season gets underway, and Ryan Blaney looks to defend his title in 2024.

However, there will be stiff competition for the Team Penske wheelman this season, from numerous drivers throughout the field. As it stands at the moment, Blaney is the favorite to repeat, but FanDuel Sportsbook has some fascinating odds for who will capture the Cup Series title in 2024.

Ryan Blaney (+550)

The defending champion is the favorite coming into the 2024 season. If Ryan Blaney drives like he did in the playoffs throughout an entire year, it’s going to be hard for anyone to defeat the Team Penske star.

He really turned it on in the playoffs, as Blaney entered the upper-echelon of the NASCAR Cup Series. Now, it’s up to him to prove the run was no fluke, and look to repeat as the champion of the series in 2024.

Kyle Larson (+550)

Kyle Larson came close to a title in 2023, but he couldn’t hold the lead his pit crew gave him in the final laps at Phoenix. Ryan Blaney simply was too fast, and passed Larson for what would ultimately be P2, and the title.

Still, with as much talent as Larson possesses, he’ll always be among the favorites when a new season rolls around, and that’s where he finds himself now.

William Byron (+550)

William Byron proved he can hang with the big boys in 2023, winning multiple races and making it to the Championship 4 at Phoenix. An impressive drive at Martinsville clinched his spot, and now he’ll be looking to do it all over again this season.

Bryon has to feel like he missed out on a major opportunity, as his car simply faded as the race went on in the desert. With the Daytona 500 around the corner, the Hendrick star will be hoping to start his championship chase off with a bang.

Denny Hamlin (+750)

Perhaps no driver in the field wants to win a title more than Denny Hamlin. It’s the one thing missing on his Hall of Fame resume, as he’s accomplished basically everything else he’s set out to do as a NASCAR driver.

There’s a ton on his plate as a driver and team owner, but Hamlin has proven to be able to handle it. You only have so many chances to win it all, and 2024 will provide another go-round for the embattled wheelman.

Chase Elliott (+850)

The former NASCAR champion had a rough 2023, filled with injuries and suspensions, and capped off by missing the playoffs when it was all said and done. Still, Chase Elliott never wavered, and finished the season with some strong performances.

2024 represents a chance to return to the limelight, and bounce back in a big way. We’ll see if Elliott can get back to being in the Cup Series title conversation, as many are expecting that from him this season.

Christopher Bell (+900)

Christopher Bell has come close to a NASCAR Cup Series title over the last two seasons, making back-to-back Championship 4 appearances. However, he’s had his fair share of issues at Phoenix, including a brake failure last season that ruined his title hopes.

It’s only a matter of time before Bell overcomes his bad luck and makes winning a title a reality. He has his supporters, and he still has his doubters, but we’ll see what the Joe Gibbs Racing wheelman is made of in 2024.

Martin Truex Jr. (+900)

It was a dream season in 2023 for Martin Truex Jr. until it wasn’t. The veteran driver won the Cup Series regular season title, but a bad start to the playoffs turned into a nightmare couple of months, and he was eliminated without ever putting up much of a fight.

That led to Truex returning to the sport in 2024, despite some theorizing he could walk away. He’ll be looking to recapture some of the magic he had over the first 26 races of 2023, before the wheels fell off for the former champion.

Joey Logano (+1200)

A third NASCAR Cup series title would put Joey Logano in some amazing company, and that’s what’s on his mind in 2024. He didn’t have a great season in 2023 after winning it all in 2022, and the Team Penske wheelman had to watch his teammate win a title instead of him.

Logano is a threat to win week-in and week-out, and he was animated after The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum. It’s evident he has some fire entering 2024, but we’ll see if he can turn that into a championship once again.

Kyle Busch (+1200)

Like the aforementioned Joey Logano, Kyle Busch is in search of his third NASCAR Cup Series title. However, he’s looking to prove to the world he can do it without the backing of Joe Gibbs Racing.

Busch moved to Richard Childress Racing last season, and looked to be on his way to dominating the season in the first half of the year. However, his results fell off over the second half of the season, so he’ll be looking for a more complete campaign in 2024.

Tyler Reddick (+1400)

Tyler Reddick made it to the Round of 8 in 2023, but an uninspiring performance in those three races eliminated him from contention for a title. He especially misfired at Martinsville, where he had a shot at making it to Phoenix, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Still, Reddick became the flag-bearer for 23XI Racing in 2023, and he’ll look to continue growing in 2024, as one of the more talented drivers in the field. We’ll see if it all comes together for him this season.

We’ll see who can start their season off with a bang next weekend, and their chase for a title on the right foot.
