NASCAR Truck Series: NextEra Energy 250 Analysis

The NASCAR schedule annually with Speedweek at the Daytona Internation Speedway. While the Cup Series gets all the shine on Wednesday, with single-lap qualifying, and Thursday, with the Duels at Daytona, Friday of Speedweek, the trucks take the spotlight.

Reging NASCAR cup series champion Zane Smith will try to move from preseason and NASCAR NextEra Energy 250 betting favorite to the first back-to-back series champion since Matt Crafton won consecutive championships in 2013 – 2014.

Smith will have 2021 Truck Series Champion Ben Rhodes in pursuit. Rhodes finished second behind Smith for NASCAR Trucks championship in 2022. Both men will be trying to become two-time Truck Series champions in 2023.

Smith and Rhodes will also be aiming to replicate the start of their 2022 seasons by finishing 1-2 at Daytona. Smith won the 2022 NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona.

Smith’s ThorSport teammate Ty Majeski finished seventh in last year’s race seventh and finished fourth overall in the NASCAR Truck Series Standings. Majeski won two races last season and aims to make it back to the top four again in 2023.

McAnally-Hilgermann Racing’s Christian Eckes finished eighth in the Truck Series in 2023 but third in the 2022 NextEra Energy 250. Eckes’ form in 2022, from the Heart of America 200 to the Toyota 200, was very impressive and has us favoring him from the second tier of drivers who will be among our potential Nextra Energy 250 betting picks.

Tricon Garage’s Cody Heim is among the betting favorites, speaking to odds maker’s belief that he will be improved over last year and will score more wins, adding to his wins at the 2022 Fr8Auctions 208 and the Toyota 200.

Heim was very impressive in 2022 and could start 2023 with a big win at Daytona.

NASCAR Truck Series: NextEra Energy 250 Betting Picks

While we don’t have much to work with from, 2023 of the trucks running to make our NextEra Energy 250 picks on, we’re still going to make a few suggestions on who we’ll take.

However, we strongly recommend watching qualifying earlier in the day to see each driver and truck’s performance before making your final NextEra Energy 250 betting selection.

Our pick is between Cody Heim (+1000) to start his season with a huge win or Christian Eckes (+1400) from a little further back.
