NBA best bets today (Predictions for Scottie Barnes, Jalen Duren and Thunder-Warriors)
What a way to kick off our week in the NBA with eight games on the docket including a potential Trae Young-Damian Lillard showdown in the late window.
We’re looking to get back on track with our NBA best bets, and I have two props and a spread pick for Monday’s slate. There are a few games with shorter spreads (Minnesota-Sacramento and Phoenix-Toronto) that are also intriguing, but the prop market is where I think we have the most value.

This is by far my favorite spread on the board for several reasons, starting with the fact that Oklahoma City is 16-4-1 ATS this season when it is an underdog of five or more points.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are 5-point dogs against the Golden State Warriors tonight and one of my favorite bets.

It’s hard to find a better spot to back the Thunder, who are 9-6 ATS as home dogs this season, than when they host the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State is dreadful on the road in the 2022-23 campaign, going 6-18 straight up and 2-8 ATS as road favorites. Not to mention, the Warriors are 28th in the NBA in defensive rating on the road this season.
The Thunder (13th in net rating this season) are undervalued in this spot, and they actually could even their record with Golden State with a win. Back OKC as an underdog, something we do often in this column.
Jalen Duren OVER 9.5 Rebounds (-110)
Detroit Pistons @ Dallas Mavericks

Jalen Duren is averaging 10.6 rebounds per game since he moved into the starting lineup for the Detroit Pistons, clearing this line in 13 of his last 20 games.
The rookie big man has a favorable matchup with the Dallas Mavericks, who are down big man Christian Wood and rank dead last in the NBA in rebounding percentage.
Duren went under this number in his last game against Houston, the league’s best rebounding team, but I like him to bounce back here.
Scottie Barnes OVER 16.5 Points (-105)
Toronto Raptors @ Phoenix Suns

OG Anunoby is out for the Toronto Raptors on Monday night, which means we’re going to see an increased role for Scottie Barnes.
In six games without Anunoby this season, Barnes is averaging 19.7 points per game, clearing this line in five of his six matchups.
Barnes is also taking 15.0 shots per game without OG in the lineup, which is huge for his floor in this prop.
Going back a little over a month to Dec. 23, Barnes is averaging 17.9 points per game across 19 contests despite taking just 13.5 shots per game. He should see an uptick in usage tonight, and I like him to be able to get to the rim against a Suns team that really plays just one true big on the floor at all times.
