NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (3/1)

It was slim pickings on Monday with just four games on the NBA slate. We certainly paid the price, going just 1-2 on the night with our three selections. Following a busy Tuesday, we look to bounce back on Wednesday and pull back to even for the week.

YTD Record: 86-67-5 ATS

Wednesday’s Best NBA Betting Odds

Phoenix Suns vs. Charlotte Hornets

Albeit too little too late as they sit in the basement of the NBA standings, the Hornets are smoking hot. They have won five straight, covering all five and winning four outright as underdogs. They now step up a level, as they welcome the Suns to town.

A slump to end 2022 has the once Western-Conference-leading Suns currently sitting in the 4th spot and 10 1/2 games behind the Nuggets. They are healthy now and expected to have Kevin Durant in the lineup for the first time. As we often see, however, I don’t expect much chemistry out of the gates. Due to that, the Hornets can hang inside this number.

Bet: Hornets +10 (-110)

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat

The Heat are hoping newly-acquired veteran Kevin Love can be a spark, as they come into this one having lost four of five and fallen out of the first six guaranteed playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. They took one step in that direction on Monday, beating this 76ers team by just two points in an ugly game.

For the 76ers, Joel Embiid was the high-scorer with 27 points. No other Philly starter scored more than 20 in that contest. In this one, I like the 76ers to get back on track, as they should smell blood in the water with Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to miss time for the Bucks.

Bet: 76ers +1 (-110)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics

Following a win streak that extended two weeks, regression was bound to come for the Cavaliers. They found it last week in three straight losses. They did get back on track Monday, however, beating the Raptors 118-93 and covering as 7.5 favorites.

For the Celtics, a bad loss was in order Monday night on the road in New York. As two-point favorites, they lost outright to the Knicks. While I do expect the Celtics to play with an edge in this one, I think the Cavs can stay inside this number.

Bet: Cavaliers +6 (-110)
