NBA MVP Picks, Predictions 2022-23: International Players Lead the Charge Once Again

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is the betting favorite for the 2022-23 NBA season. Giannis Antetokumpo, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and 2014 MVP Kevin Durant are all in the mix. Ja Morant, Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson and Joel are also in contention.

Luka Doncic is the early favorite to win his first NBA MVP award. He averaged 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.3 3-pointers per game in his fourth season.

Antetokounmpo won the MVP award in 2019 and 2020. Giannis Antetkounppo has the second-shortest odds to win his third MVP this season.

Embiid became the first center since Shaquille O'Neal to win the scoring crown last season. He finished as the MVP runner-up in each of the last two seasons.

Durant is one of the best scorers of all time. He is expected to be in the MVP conversation again.

Jokic is a true unicorn thanks to his elite passing, shooting and rebounding skills. He averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists last season.

Tatum is a clear MVP candidate for the Boston Celtics. He is the favorite to win the NBA MVP award in 2022-23.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is not a good bet to win the MVP award.

Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies shocked the NBA last season with 56 wins and No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. He was named Most Improved Player and Most Valuable Player. Antetokounmpo won both awards in one season.

LeBron James was phenomenal last season. Los Angeles Lakers forward needs to play more to win more games.

Williamson missed most of his rookie season and all of last season due to injuries. When fully healthy in 2020-21, Williamson was electric with averages of 27.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. New Orleans Pelicans made the playoffs last year after adding All-Star guard C.J. McCollum.

Anthony Davis is a big man who could be an MVP candidate if he stays healthy. He averaged 25.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game from 2013-2019 with the Pelicans.

Harden was the 2018 NBA MVP. He played for the 76ers last season. Harden is in his first full season with the Sixers. He is a triple-double threat and a quality scorer.

Donovan Mitchell will start the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mitchell is a two-time All-Star.
