NBA Teaser Picks: Basketball Bets, Odds to Consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for December 28

The tool allows us to toggle the tease total to see how a play has performed against various numbers, but I’ll be sticking to the default of 4 points to ensure -110 odds.

Mavericks +15

The Timberwolves may be cooking with gas at 22-7 straight-up, but they’ve been far from perfect against the spread at just 15-13.

Three of the instances Minnesota has failed to cover the spread have come in the three games the Wolves were facing a Western Conference underdog that was on the second leg of a back-to-back. It’s essentially been a 50-50 split between favorites and underdogs in that setting across the conference, so it is noteworthy to see the team with the best record in the West struggle with the scenario.

Now, Dallas is only 1-1 ATS when playing this setting as the underdog, and Minnesota almost won by 20 when the two teams last met. But there’s another factor at play that makes the Mavs appealing ATS — never mind the help of the four-point teaser. If the spread was 10.5 every time an underdog in a Western Conference game was playing on the second leg of a back-to-back, those teams would be 18-10 ATS (64.3%). In both 2021-22 and ‘22-23, teams in this setting lost by 10 or fewer (or won) over 57% of the time.

Pacers +2.5

Indiana has been middling ATS this season (15-15). As favorites, the Pacers are only 7-7 ATS. However, they’re 3-1 ATS when playing as a favorite against a divisional opponent.

That said, the Bulls are 4-0 ATS when playing as a divisional dog. But when adjusting for this four-point teaser we’re working with, the Bulls have only won by three-plus points in two of the four games they’ve played as divisional dogs this season. Meanwhile, the Pacers still sit at 3-1 ATS when factoring in the teaser.

Additionally, in each of the last four instances which the Pacers were visiting Chicago while the Bulls had a losing record, Indiana is 4-0 ATS.
