NC State vs. Virginia odds, line, picks: Predictions for Friday's college football Week 4 matchup from advanced computer model

The NC State Wolfpack visit the Virginia Cavaliers on Friday in an ACC college football matchup, and the hosts are still seeking their first victory of the season. The Wolfpack (2-1) lost to then-No. 10 Notre Dame after beating UConn to open the season, then routed VMI 45-7 on Saturday. The Cavaliers (0-3) have lost to No. 12 Tennessee, James Madison and Maryland, giving up more than 35 points in all three.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Va. The latest N.C. State vs. Virginia odds list the Wolfpack as 7.5-point favorites, and the over/under for total points scored is 47.5. (Head to SportsLine's college football odds page for the latest odds on every game).

Before you make any Virginia vs. NC State picks or college football predictions, you NEED to see the predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a stunning profit of nearly $2,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen huge returns.

The model knows the Wolfpack should be able to put up big numbers against a Cavs defense that is allowing 452 yards per game. Brennan Armstrong, a transfer from UVA, has topped 250 passing yards the past two games and has 679 yards and three TD passes for the season. The quarterback also is the team's top rusher with 161 yards. Virginia is allowing 192 rushing yards per game, so Jordan Houston (96 yards) and Kendrick Raphael (92) should get a lot of work Friday.

The model also has taken into account that UVA quarterback Anthony Colandrea has been lighting it up since replacing the injured Tony Muskett (shoulder) in the opener. The freshman has 640 passing yards over the past two games. Receivers Malik Washington and Malachi Fields have been big beneficiaries and have a combined 37 receptions for 496 yards this season. Running back Kobe Pace has 103 yards and two TDs on just five catches out of the backfield.

Now, the model has set its sights on Friday's NC State vs. Virginia matchup. We can tell you it is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 60% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks!
