NCAA Football Playoff Odds Show UGA, UM as Near Locks

Georgia is the favorite for the college football playoff. Michigan is next in line.

Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines are near-locks to get into the NCAA Football Playoff. TCU Horned Frogs and USC Trojans are a decent margin behind. Ohio State Buckeyes and Alabama Crimson Tide are in with a chance but do not control their own destiny.

Georgia is the favorite to win the title and repeat as champs. Michigan is a close second, while TCU and USC are third and fourth. Ohio State is fifth, despite being ranked fifth in the latest AP poll and having no immediate remaining games. The Wolverines beat Purdue 45-23 this weekend to secure their place in a playoff.

There are four teams left in the running for the last two spots in college football's national championship. TCU is undefeated, but they have a negative bias against them. Cincinnati was voted into the playoff last year despite being out of the Power Five. USC has a rich football history and is 11-1. They play Utah in Pac-12 Championship game. The top four control their own destiny.
