Miami Heat (1-3) vs Brooklyn Nets (1-2)

Game Info: Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 7:30 pm (Kaseya Center)

Betting Odds: Miami Heat -6.5 -- Over/Under: 224.5

The Brooklyn Nets travel to the Kaseya Center to take on the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will be eager to build some momentum after they halted a two-game skid with a 133-121 road win over the Hornets on Monday. Cam Thomas led the team with 33 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Dorian Finney Smith and Lonnie Walker scored 19 points each. As a team, the Nets shot 56 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Hornets from the start, pouring in 42 points in the first quarter to take an early 21-point lead, which kept them in front the entire game.

Miami Heat

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have endured a slow start to the season as they will be hoping to snap a three-game slide after falling short to the Bucks in a 122-114 road loss on Monday. Tyler Herro led the team with 35 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Jimmy Butler added 13 points while Duncan Robinson chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line, but they struggled to keep pace in the first half and they just left themselves too much ground to make up after falling behind by 25 points in the third quarter.

Peter's Pick

The Nets are going to be shorthanded once again as Dennis Smith Jr, Spencer Dinwiddie and Nic Claxton are all listed as doubtful, while the Heat are keeping eyes on Haywood Highsmit, Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin who are all questionable. The Nets looked good in their big win over the Hornets thanks to some hot shooting from Cam Thomas who earned himself a promotion into the starting lineup, but they would love a big scalp in the Heat who have yet to find their groove this season. I think the Heat grind out a much-needed win here regardless of whether Butler plays or not, but I think the Nets hang around long enough to get the cover in the end.
