Nets vs. Heat same-game parlay predictions Nov. 16: Bet on Miami to extend its winning streak at +270

The Miami Heat are rolling and host the injury-riddled Brooklyn Nets tonight.

The pregame narrative: Miami has won six straight and all signs point to that number reaching seven tonight. I'm backing the Heat to win and taking the under on an alternate game total. Nic Claxton finds his way onto this ticket, too.

Nets vs. Heat same-game parlay

Parlay: Nuggets moneyline + Under 220.5 points + Claxton over 8.5 rebounds (+270)

Heat moneyline (-175): Reports of the Heat's death have been greatly exaggerated. The reigning Eastern Conference champions started their season off 1-4 before rattling off six straight wins, the final four of which came on the road.

Miami won each of those games by at least five points and is now back at Kaseya Center to host a Cam Thomas and Ben Simmons-less Brooklyn squad.

The Nets are 6-5 on the season and beat the Heat earlier this year, but the Heat have a clean bill of health and should take care of business.

Since the start of last season, Miami is 37-20 at home.

Other parlay picks

Under 220.5 points (-175): Surprise, surprise, the Heat are a great defensive team. Miami has always been a tough out under Erik Spoelstra and this year is no different. They have the eighth-best defensive rating (109.8) in basketball and allow the seventh-fewest points per game (109.8).

They also have the eighth-worst offensive rating (109.7), so it shouldn't be a surprise that Miami has cashed the under in seven of its 11 games.

The Heat have gone under this specific total in six of 11 games and three of their past five. With no Thomas on the other end to bolster scoring, I'm expecting a rock fight.

Claxton over 8.5 rebounds (-186): One thing Miami hasn't done well this year is rebound. The Heat have the 22nd-ranked rebound rate (48.4%) and their opponents haul in 51.8 rebounds per game, which is right around the league average.

Claxton returned from injury last week and picked up 13 boards against the Washington Wizards. He got into foul trouble early against the Orlando Magic two days later but still managed six rebounds in 21 minutes of play.

Barring a repeat of Tuesday's game, the fifth-year centre should see plenty of court tonight. Claxton cleared this line in 45 of 76 starts last season.
