Newcastle each-way tip: Badri primed to hit the ground running on stable debut

20:45 Newcastle: William Hill Enhanced Odds Every Day Racing League Handicap (5 furlongs)

Top of the billing and the betting is the experienced campaigner Rohaan, and that’s hardly surprising for a five-year-old who boasts back-to-back Royal Ascot successes (The Wokingham Stakes in 2021 and 2022) among his impressive nine career wins.

If he rekindles that kind of form, he will take all the beating under Saffie Osborne, he has equally capable and well-supported rivals such as Batal Dubai, Alligator Alley and Fine Wine lining up to pounce should he falter.

Five-furlong sprints can be won and lost in the blink of an eye, which gives renewed hope to those further down the betting, especially with four-each-way places (and even five in some quarters) widely available.

The likes of Be Proud and Dusky Lord are among those fancying their chances of landing a blow at double-digit odds, but the collective discerning eye some of Tipstrr’s each-way specialists has fallen upon Badri, who will be making his first appearance since switching stables from Ruth Carr to Julie Camacho.

New trainers do not always have an immediate impact, but Camacho inherits a horse in decent form already, with Badri having won four of his ten outings this year, including over this course and distance in March, plus the Tokyo Stakes at Epsom’s Derby meeting.

The heavy ground and extra furlong did him no favours at Goodwood last time out a month ago, and in the dependable hands of David Allan, he could well make his presence felt again here on his stable debut.
