Next Celtic Manager Odds

Celtic are on the hunt for a new manager after Ange Postecoglou left the club for the bright lights of Tottenham.

The have wasted no time in offering odds on who will replace the Australian coach in the hotseat.

Some UK bookmakers make former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers the favourite to make a dramatic return to Glasgow, while others have placed Enzo Maresca at the top of the list.

David Moyes is also in contention, along with a few other famous names, so it promises to be an intriguing recruitment process.

You will find updated odds on this market below, and we have assessed each candidate’s chances of landing the Celtic job.

Enzo Maresca's Momentum In Next Celtic Manager Odds: A Closer Look

The 43-year-old Italian coach has emerged as the 2/1 favourite with to replace Postecoglou as Celtic manager.

Maresca has spent the past year learning his trade alongside Pep Guardiola in the Manchester City dugout, helping the team win the Premier League title.

He began his playing career at West Brom, but he then moved to Juventus in 2000 and had subsequent spells at Fiorentina, Sevilla, Olympiacos, Málaga, Sampdoria, Palermo and Verona.

Maresca served as assistant manager at Ascoli and Sevilla before spending a year as Manuel Pellegrini’s assistant at West Ham.

He was then the U23 manager at Man City, before a short spell as head coach at Parma, which did not work out.

He rejoined Man City last summer, and he has built up a reputation as an “invaluable asset” to Guardiola during their title-winning campaign.

Maresca may lack experience, but Mikel Arteta is currently thriving at Arsenal after following a similar path, and Celtic could pursue a similar approach.

Betting Odds Indicate Brendan Rodgers Could Return As Celtic Manager

Rodgers infuriated Celtic fans by leaving the club to take over as Leicester City manager in February 2019.

He had led the Hoops to back-to-back trebles, and they were on course for another when he announced his abrupt departure.

The former Liverpool and Swansea boss burnished his reputation at the King Power Stadium, leading Leicester to consecutive fifth-place finishes, while they also won the FA Cup in 2021.

However, the Foxes sacked Rodgers in April after he presided over a poor run of results, so he is now a free agent.

He has been linked with several jobs so far this summer, but he could be poised to make a return to Celtic Park.

Rodgers is the 7/4 favourite with some bookies to land the job, but you can grab a market leading 5/2 at Bet365 on him returning.

That may be an unpopular decision with some supporters, who have still not forgiven him, but he is far more experienced than Maresca, and he has proven his ability to win trophies in Scotland.

Is David Moyes The Right Fit For Celtic? Assessing The Odds And Implications

Moyes is next in the betting at 8/1 to replace Postecoglou, who also led the Bhoys to the treble this season.

The Glaswegian coach began his managerial career in 1998 when he took the reins at Preston North End, but he has never coached in his native Scotland.

He has had high-profile spells at Everton, Man Utd, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham, so he is vastly experienced.

Moyes has won plenty of individual honours, including three LMA Manager of the Year awards, but league titles and cups have eluded him.

That could all change if he moves to Celtic, so the job could prove tempting now that he is in his seventh decade.

His future at West Ham is uncertain after a poor campaign, so Moyes could soon be seeking a new challenge, and odds of 6/1 on him joining Celtic look tempting.

Why Kjetil Knutsen Is A Promising Candidate In The Next Celtic Manager Odds

Knutsen built up a reputation as an accomplished coach by leading Bodo/Glimt to consecutive Eliteserien titles in 2020 and 2021.

The club had never previously been crowned champions of Norway, so their resurgence under Knutsen has been remarkable.

They have won the title twice and finished runners-up twice during his four seasons in charge, and they are currently well clear of their closest rivals at the top of the table.

As such, Knutsen could find himself on Celtic’s shortlist, and he is priced at 8/1 with William Hill to take the job.

Graham Potter's Sleeper Status in Next Celtic Manager Odds

Celtic could offer Potter the perfect opportunity to rebuild his reputation after an ill-fated spell at Chelsea this season.

He landed the job at Stamford Bridge on the back of his excellent work at Brighton, and he was touted as a future England manager.

However, Chelsea’s season proved disastrous after Potter struggled to turn a host of new signings into an effective unit, and he was sacked on the same day as Rodgers in April.

He is now looking for a new challenge, and he will have no shortage of offers, but the chance to win trophies at Celtic could prove tempting, and odds of 10/1 at BetVictor are appealing.

Who Will Be The New Celtic Manager? An Analysis Of The Odds

John Kennedy, who has been at Celtic since 2010 and served as Postecoglou’s assistant manager this season, is 12/1 with to take the top job.

Blackburn’s Jon Dahl Tomasson is also 12/1, while former Leeds, RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch is priced at 14/1.

Longer shots include Scott Brown (25/1), Neil Lennon (33/1), Martin O’Neill (33/1) and Steve Clarke (33/1).
