NHL betting odds 2022: Rangers and Devils season predictions

The NHL season starts on Tuesday. New York Rangers are the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. The Rangers lost in the Conference Finals to Tampa Bay Lightning last season. Devils recorded 63 points in their first full season since 2018-19. They are second to the Hurricanes in odds to won the Metropolitan Division. Rangers have made the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season and are fifth favorite in Eastern Conference. They play their games at Madison Square Garden on October 11. It's the last game before the new NHL regular season begins. There are over/under points on the point totals and chances to make the playoff.

New Jersey Devils had a disappointing season last year. They finished with their fewest points since 1985-86 and had under 30 wins for the third consecutive season. This year they signed Ondrej Palat and Vitek Vanecek. Oddsmakers are more confident in the Devils this season and they are betting on them to have a bounce back campaign. They are also betting they will win the Stanley Cup, Metropolitan Division, make the playoffs and go over/under 89.5 points. New Jersey has gone over 90 points just once since 2011-12.

The Devils are predicted to finish sixth in the Metropolitan division and miss the playoffs.
