NHL parlay picks Jan. 27: Bet on plenty of goals between Devils and Lightning

Saturday's 14-game NHL slate is oozing with parlay potential.

The pregame narrative: The New York Islanders can't score and face a stingy Florida Panthers squad, putting the under on their team total in play. Expect plenty of goals from the New Jersey Devils and Tampa Bay Lightning and a low-scoring game between the Minnesota Wild and Anaheim Ducks.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Islanders under 3.5 goals + Devils vs Lightning over 5.5 goals + Ducks vs. Wild under 6.5 goals (+251)

Islanders under 3.5 goals (-245): New York is one of the worst offensive teams in the league.

The Islanders rank 24th in goals per game (2.92) this season and aren't entering this contest in fine form.

New York has gone below this total in seven consecutive games and nine of the team's last 10. The lone exception was a four-goal effort in an overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Florida has been equally as impressive in its own zone. The Panthers have held 12 of their last 16 opponents to three goals or fewer, including each of their last three.

The Cats played on Friday and will likely turn to Anthony Stolarz on Saturday. That's no issue as he owns a .917 save percentage in 14 games played.

Other parlay picks

The Lightning enter Saturday's contest with a pair of six-goal performances in their last two games. They're now tied for seventh in goals per game (3.43) this season after the pair of efforts.

The Bolts are battling a New Jersey team that's all offence. The Devils are also tied for seventh in goals per game (3.43), but place 32nd in team save percentage (.882) per Natural Stat Trick.

New Jersey's typical play style leads to plenty of over. The Devils have the fourth-highest over percentage (59.8%) in the league, according to Scores and Odds.

Ducks vs. Wild under 6.5 goals (-137): Lastly, two anemic offences are likely going to combine for a low-scoring game.

Anaheim is trudging along without the likes of Trevor Zegras, Pavel Mintyukov and Alex Killorn. The team is a miserable 29th in goals per game (2.54) on the campaign.

Minnesota isn't doing much better this season. The Wild are 19th in goals per game (3.00) and are a very inconsistent scoring team. They've recorded five-plus goals in four of their last 10, but have been held to two or fewer in four games as well during this stretch.
